past couple of weeks

we must've been so stressed out about our open studio

being possibly rained out, we went into a hibernation mode

after. ok that's not really true. we've been up to

a few things, including:

patchwork

ken and alex working the table

our lovely customers

our friends kris&alan's wedding at ace hotel

in palm springs. it was our first time staying there and

the rumors are true, it's great.

and then we had a little studio visit at our printshop

with the young people of AIGA USC.

this has been a super lazy update by shino.

a summer day

I stayed home today to work with our bookkeeper, and

saw outside the window:

Then in the evening, I went over to Carrie & Wally's where they

generously picked for us, along with beautiful blood oranges, giant:

(grapefruits)

Which of course we turned into:

Suuper yum.

saturday hike

Morgan takes me out for a hike. I'm trying out a slightly bigger size photos...

I think it looks better.

these days

we've been printing a bunch of new designs in preparation
for the up-coming stationery show..

.. and still hiking everyday with our dog Morgan.
Not very exciting, but hey, we like it that way!!

happy go farm

during our quick trip up north, we got to visit our friends
in Petaluma. They are super talented people who
among other things do organic farming.

They have tons of veggies and fruits growing

on the way home we took a detour and went to
Muir dog beach in Marin.

... and this is just some of the veggies and home made preserves
they sent us home with. Thank you H&K!! We will see you
in LA soon.

wild summer

It's been a relatively calm summer, me busy working on
a children's book, ken trying to teach our dog morgan how to
swim with little success, until...

..the station fire. We watched the fire move closer & closer
to our house (the photo above was the view from
our kitchen window), and finally had to evacuate. Thank you again
for all those who helped and expressed concerns.
We're all fine and so is our house! yay


we did get to have a little party for ken's 40th
before the fire madness.

No one is happier than morgan that we're back home
safe and sound.

Thank you fire fighters!!!!!!

sunday hike

Since we got our dog Morgan, we've sort of become hikers.

Today's hike was Rubio canyon.
It got pretty steep but totally worth the climb to see
the twin falls from the top! (I was picturing two falls
side by side, but I guess it's one on top of the other) the view on the other side

now rest!
